Rita A. Holder, BS (Environmental Science), MS (Environmental Policy), JD, and LL. M (taxation) attended UC Berkeley and Golden Gate University Law, passing the bar in 1983. Later she went back to law school to get an LL. M. in taxation, to more comprehensively counsel her clientele. Her goal is to be a trusted servant to all her clients. Like many people, her career path evolved over time.

Rita worked as an environmental scientist out of college and then went to law school. Straight out of law school she worked for law firms doing retirement law, estate planning, environmental law and family law. She also was a shareholder in a tax accounting firm for 5 years after she was awarded her LL. M. in Taxation.

In her mid-30's, she was recruited as an executive compliance officer at a global management consulting firm, specializing in trust administration, tax compliance and retirement plan law. After the firm went public in 2008, she returned to private practice in Walnut Creek.

Rita was married to the SFPD deputy police chief for 35 years until his death in 2024. She continues to live in Crystyl Ranch in Concord. She has 4 adult children and 4 grandchildren.

Rita limits her practice to family law, tax law, wills, trusts, conservatorships and probate. Her office is in Walnut Creek at 2950 Buskirk Ave. Contact her directly at 925-482-8910 or [email protected]
